Another of Michelle Obama's favourites, American designer Narciso Rodriguez's Resort 2012 collection sticks to the colour-blocking and stripe trends so popular this season.
The navy, black, cream and white colour-palette is peppered with candy pink overcoats, thick red stripes and oversized tartan prints on long shorts, mid-length skirts and dresses, and loose straight-legged trousers.
Talking to WWD, Rodriguez has cited his inspiration for the Resort 2012 collection as Cuban artist, Carmen Herrera's graphic paintings and collages, for their 'bold color and the most perfect line'.

Modelled by the Burberry faces of the moment, Edie Campbell and Cara Delevingne, the Burberry Resort 2012 collection features classic trenches in azure blue leather, chrome yellow pleated dresses and cream chiffon separates.
The mid-length skirt certainly looks like it's here to stay well into next spring; the Burberry skirts and dresses hang south of the knees, whether they are A-line pleats or leather pencil skirts, but must be teamed with their beaded platforms and one of their oh-so-sweet knitted beret-style hats.
