BROOKE SHIELDS
Brooke Shields graduated from Ivy League College Princeton in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in French literature. Whilst studying, she wrote her autobiography On Your Own, which was published in 1985 - when Brooke was only 20.
CHRISTY TURLINGTON
It was apparently Christy Turlington's interest in yoga that inspired her to study for a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Religion and Eastern Philosophy at New York University.
DIANE VON FURSTENBERG
Belgium-born Diane Von Furstenberg studied Economics at the University of Geneva in Switzerland.
LAURA BAILEY
Model Laura Bailey studied English at the University of Southampton, graduating with first-class honours.
LILY COLE
Lily Cole juggled History of Art at Cambridge University with a successful career as a model and actress and still emerged with a double first class degree - a very special accolade bestowed on students who gain top marks in their first and final year exams.
MIUCCIA PRADA
Miuccia Prada prepared herself for taking over the family business by studying Political Science at the University of Milan. Three years after completing her undergraduate studies in 1970, she received a PhD.
RALPH LAUREN
Ralph Lauren studied business at Baruch College, New York, but dropped out after two years. He then spent two years in the United States Army until, in 1967, he opened his first store, selling ties under his "Polo label.

Designer Roksanda Ilincic studied Architecture and Applied Arts in her native Belgrade before moving to London in 1999 to study fashion at Central Saint Martins.
TYRA BANKS
In 2011, Tyra Banks enrolled at Harvard Business School for a nine-week-long Owner/President Manager Program (OPM). In 2012, she passed the Executive Education Training Program. Asked by VH1 what her most difficult class was, Banks quickly replied "finance": "For the first 30 minutes of the class, I'm raising my hand, I'm all into it, 'cause it's kind of like theory and just like, the social part of the case. The last hour it's all like Einstein and algebraic equations and craziness. And I'm just like, what is going on? Please don't call on me because it won't be pretty.
