The best products, techniques and colours for 20-somethings with advice from Britain's leading skincare and make-up experts.
The make-up You don't need heavy foundation at this age. Here our make-up artist, Shama Sahzayasin, has applied a sun-protecting tinted moisturiser. Try Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear Moisturiser SPF 30 (£25.70), and for blemishes use a treatment concealer such as Dermalogica Concealing Spot Treatment (£22.50), which will cover up as well as heal. Apply a light cream blush, such as Nars The Multiple in Orgasm (£20.50, from spacenk.co.uk), on the apples of the cheeks, and curl your lashes with Japonesque eyelash curlers (£9.50). Finish with a rose-tinted lip balm, such as By Terry Baume de Rose(£35, from spacenk.co.uk ).
The regime This is the decade to establish a good skincare routine. A gentle foaming cleanser such as DeclĂ©or Aroma Cleanse Gel (£19.50) will regulate excess oils on the skin. If you suffer from hormonal breakouts, keep them at bay with a cleanser with a low level of glycolic acid, such as Dr Murad Refreshing Cleanser (£27). The facialist Nichola Joss suggests using a cleansing brush (such as a Clarisonic, £155) to ensure a deep cleanse.
DIY daily facial The skincare expert Antonia Burrell suggests spending one minute a day using fingers to tap all over the face, focusing around the nose and under the chin - hormonal breakout areas. This will bring blood to the surface, taking waste away and leaving skin warm, tingly and plump.
