Karlie Kloss, Stella Tennant and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have all enjoyed a year in the spotlight, but who else made our top 20?

 Arizona Muse
There was no escaping Arizona Muse's bushy brows and heart-shaped face this year, be it from a billboard modelling for high street giant Next, or a Louis Vuitton ad campaign. The mother-of-one, who hails from New Mexico, has fast become the fashion editor's model of choice, clocking up editorials in the American, Russian, Australian and French editions of Vogue - to name but a few.

 Lara Stone
Ranked by models.com as their top model, 2011 has proved to be another work-filled year for Dutch-born Stone, with over 12 glossy covers and campaigns for Calvin Klein, Tom Ford and Prada Perfume.

 Freja Beja Erickson
Countless catwalk appearances coupled with campaigns for Chanel, Louis Vuitton, H&M and Valentino has left Freja one of the most in-demand models of the moment (not to mention the ever-increasing Vogue covers).

 Daphne Groeneveld
One of the breakout new faces of the year, Dutch Daphne walked 48 runway shows for spring/summer 2012 alone. She has also covered V magazine and Love Magazine and was picked to star in the Versace for H&M campaign.

 Cara Delevingne
19-year old Cara has come in to her own this year. Continuing her role as the face of Burberry, the bushy-browed Londoner took to the catwalk to open and close the Prorsum spring/summer 2012 show with gusto.

 Gisele Bundchen
Still regarded as the highest earning and most powerful supermodel (she earned over $45 million last year) Gisele enjoyed cover appearances on 13 glossy covers this year. And the work keeps pouring in: Versace, Givenchy and Salvatore Ferragamo have all picked her to front their spring/summer 2012 campaigns.

 Karlie Kloss
After clocking up numerous editorials, ad campaigns and catwalk appearances, Kloss recently hit the big time: she was chosen to walk in the Victoria's Secret show in November. Shortly after, the 19-year-old was photographed by Steven Miesel for Vogue Italia, in what is a soon-to-be-iconic editorial, proclaiming her the new 'Body'.

 Kelly Mittendorf
The face of Prada's autumn/winter 2011 campaign has put newcomer Kelly firmly on the radar. With her feline eyes and strong jaw, she's defintely one to watch.

 Lindsey Wixson
Wixson's bee stung lips and full cheeks make her face unmistakeable. A catwalk favourite, she too starred in the Versace for H&M campaign, all while remaining a sweet, modest girl from Kansas, USA.

 Stella Tennant
Tennant's 40th year proved to be a winning one: after gracing the cover of Italian Vogue and appearing in autumn campaigns for Zara, Etro and Reed Krakoff, the Scottish-born mother of four was crowned Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards.

Gisele Bündchen refuses to walk the runway in heels

Nicolas Ghesquière, Balenciaga's creative director, tells of supermodel Gisele Bündchen putting her foot down.

While the 'mannish' shoe is firmly on-trend for the autumn/winter season, Balenciaga's creative director Nicolas Ghesquière was already one step ahead when he sent chunky flats down the spring/summer 2011 runway. But it has now been revealed that the brothel creepers which featured so prominently in the French fashion house's collection were a happy coincidence rather than fashion-forward statement.

 Agyness Deyn, 28, has been cast in the remake of 1996 cult classic, "Pusher". The Ramsbottom native has modelled for Armani, Burberry and Mulberry, and was awarded Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2007. Her latest role follows on from a cameo in last year's Hollywood remake of "Clash of the Titans".

 Gisele was hot property for the best part of the late Nineties and early Noughties with campaigns and covers for just about every major designer and publication going. Comforting to know, then, that the Brazilian bombshell, well, bombed spectacularly in her first big screen outing. "Taxi" focused on a cab driver and a cop intent on solving a string of bank robberies committed by female Brazilian bank robbers, one of whom was played by Gisele. "It would take a tankerload of laughing gas to pump some humour into this flat-tyred fiasco", was how one critic described the film. Best stick to the day job...

 The model with the glacial blue eyes, Milla Jovovich was born in 1975, in Ukraine, to a Serbian pediatrician and a renowned Russian actress, Galina Jovovich. Acting was always in her blood, then; despite a successful career modelling for the likes of Christian Dior and Versace, she took up acting. She starred in the "Resident Evil" films, "Joan of Arc" and "Zoolander", although she is perhaps best known for the sci-fi thriller, "The Fifth Element". She currently has no less than three films in post-production, including "The Three Musketeers" opposite Orlando Bloom and Christoph Waltz, and four in pre-production.

 Elvis's granddaughter, Riley Keough, was only 14 when she made her modelling debut with no lesser designers than Dolce & Gabbana. A year later, she featured on the cover of "Vogue" with her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, and her grandmother, Priscilla Presley. Last year, the 21-year-old appeared in her first film, "The Runaways", based on the life of Joan Jett, with Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart. She'll be seen in "The Good Doctor" opposite Orlando Bloom this year, and has just wrapped two more films. Watch this face.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has modelled for Burberry and Victoria's secret, and has featured in the infamous Pirelli Calendar, in various states of undress. The statuesque lovely, 23, who is seeing movie hard-man Jason Statham, was the surprise choice for the "Transformers" franchise, after the departure of its former lead actress, Megan Fox. It's the MTA's(model-turned-actress) first film role and she is currently filming in Chicago.

At the Costume Institute Gala, she was arguably the best dressed of the night, and there was stiff competition from the greatest beauties of fashion and film. Gisele outdid them all in a scarlet Alexander McQueen bustier fin-tail gown from the late designer's autumn/winter 2005 collection.

Gisele Bundchen Designs For Dolce & Gabbana

27 year old, Brazilian supermodel, Gisele Bundchen, has decided to design a clothing line for D&G. Dolce and Gabbana have already used the model as a face for their clothes and fragrances. Gisele is currently the face of the D&G perfume, 'The One' and has been modelling in their shows for years.

Bundchen by Dolce and Gabbana will be in stores in March of 2008. The new line is said to be chic and feminine for spring.
