Paris Haute Couture: Givenchy autumn/winter 2011

As well as demonstrating Riccardo Tisci's sublimely modernist approach to haute couture, tonight's Givenchy presentation also showcased the Italian designer's obsession with handpicking hot supermodels.

For the third season, 37-year-old Tisci chose an installation over a fashion show and clearly not for monetary reasons either. The house of Givenchy hired panelled rooms that once occupied an ancient palace overlooking the Place Vendome, the most expensive postcode in Paris.
Here, ten exquisite garments were suspended from high ceilings, which allowed the fashion press (and over the next four days genuine haute couture clients) to witness couture work close-up.
